For the salespeople, freelancers and recruiters who follow up for a living
Unseal tells you the minute your email is opened — every email, for free.
Double-check marks in your Gmail Sent list, and a notification the moment it’s opened, with the time on it. Unlimited tracked emails on the free plan — the only price is one small “Sent with Unseal” line, and Pro turns it off.
Demo mode out of the box; real opens take one URL — your pixel server, in Settings.
Unseal marks it the second it goes.
Now you wait for the second check.
Too soon and you’re a pest. Too late and you’re forgotten.
Guessing is the whole problem.
Sam
The second check turns blue. Not a feeling — a timestamp.
You see the open.
She sees three small words.
Two blue checks.
Unseal’s whole report,
and the only one you need.
Gray checks still waiting. Blue pairs opened, with the time.
The open was eight minutes old.
That was the whole edge.
Every follow-up lives inside an interval.
The salesperson with a proposal out. The freelancer with an invoice pending. The recruiter waiting on a candidate. Until a mark turns blue, every one of them is guessing at the same thing: whether anyone has read it yet.
Nudge an email nobody has opened and you’re noise; let a proposal sit already-read for two days and the reply starts “sorry for the delay — we went with someone else.” Unseal ends the guessing. When a tracked email is opened, a notification arrives with the time — 2:41 PM, not a hunch — and two blue checks appear beside it in your Sent list. You follow up when there is something to follow up on.

emails rationed on the free plan. Track every send, every month.
No monthly cap, no card, no trial clock — and no counter to watch while you send. The one thing the free plan asks in return is spelled out plainly under Pricing.
Read receipts where you already work: your Sent list.
Unseal’s two blue checks: Ana opened the proposal at 2:41 PM.
One gray check means she hasn’t — so you skip the awkward “just bumping this” to someone who never saw the first one. The marks live in the Sent list you already scan, not in another dashboard.
Unseal keeps each open, with its time — a full timeline, per email.
Click any row in the Unseal popup for that email’s open timeline, then work your follow-ups in open order, not send order. The free feed holds a week of these; Pro holds them all.
Unseal’s tracking switch sits right beside Send, one email at a time.
One click turns it off for personal mail — nothing is tracked and nothing is added without the blue dot. And there is no counter ticking down beside it: the free plan has no monthly cap to watch.
What Unseal can tell you — and what it can’t.
A tracker you rely on for timing should be straight with you about setup, accuracy, privacy and limits. Here is all of it, starting with the part most pages leave out.
Demo mode is on until you add an endpoint
Out of the box Unseal runs in demo mode. Your sends are recorded on this device and an open is simulated a minute or two later, so you can watch the pill, the blue checks, the notification and the activity feed work end to end without a server. Nothing is being measured yet.
For real opens, put your own pixel server’s URL in Settings → Open detection → Tracking endpoint. Unseal then embeds a 1×1 image in every tracked email and your server logs the request. This build ships the extension, not the server.
How opens are detected — and where it slips
Opens are detected with an invisible image. Some inboxes preload images and some block them — Apple Mail Privacy Protection, Gmail’s own image proxy, many corporate gateways. Preloading can report an open nobody made; blocking can hide one that happened. So treat an open as a strong signal, not proof. Any tracker promising certainty is selling its confidence, not your recipient’s behavior.
Two smaller slips: Sent-list marks match rows by subject line, so two live threads with an identical subject can share one mark until you rename one. And when Gmail’s page structure shifts, the pill and the marks simply stop appearing until the extension catches up — your mail is never touched either way.
What Unseal can see
Three permissions: storage, alarms, notifications — and access to mail.google.com only, nowhere else on the web.
Your activity and settings stay in local storage on your device. Nothing leaves your browser unless you point Unseal at your own tracking endpoint in Settings.
What the free plan costs you
Two limits, both in the open: the one-line signature — priced out plainly under Pricing — and an activity feed that keeps 7 days, then lets go. Pro removes the line and keeps the full history.
Neither limit touches an email you chose not to track: click the pill off and Unseal adds nothing, records nothing.
Three steps, about a minute, no account to create.
Load it into Chrome
Unseal isn’t in the Chrome Web Store yet, so you load it by hand: open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, click Load unpacked and pick the 04-email-tracker folder. No signup, no email address to hand over, no card.
Open Gmail and compose
A rounded Tracking pill appears next to Send. Leave it on for the emails that matter; click it off for the ones that don’t — an untracked email carries nothing at all.
Watch the Sent list
One gray check the moment it goes. A second check turns blue when it’s opened, and a notification arrives with the time on it.
Get the folder: download unseal.zip, unzip it, and pick the unzipped 04-email-tracker folder in step 1.
Want to see the activity feed populated before you send anything real? The popup’s empty state has a Load sample activity button. Nothing about the sample touches your mail.
Running your own pixel server? Settings → Open detection → Tracking endpoint takes its URL; the extension does the rest.
